Troubleshooting for YesLaw Encoder - Common Technical Issues

"Unable to start video capture" error message?
Select Settings and (re-)establish the file output path. This error message appears when the encoder is unable to write to the output file specified. Perhaps the output file path has changed due to renaming directories or the external volume used in the past is not longer available.

Dongle not found.

Is the Dongle plugged into the front of the Encoder?

Is the Encoder plugged into the same port (as installed) of your computer?

Although the USB is a bus, the drivers are installed by individual port, so plugging into a different port will require installing the drivers for that port.

Is the Dongle Software installed
1. Plug the dongle into the USB port, right-click on My Computer and select Manage.
2. Under System Tools Select Device Manager.
3. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers list. There should be a Rainbow USB SuperPro device in the list. If not, re-check cable connections and then re-install drivers.

YesLaw Generator software capture tool does not recognize the Encoder box.

Is the Encoder box plugged into the same port as when the drivers were installed?
The drivers are installed by physical port. Different drivers can be used depending upon which physical port you plug the Encoder (USB cable) into your computer.

Are the proper drivers installed and functioning?
1. Right-click on My Computer and select Manage.
2. Under System Tools select Device Manage.
3. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers list. A driver SBUSBAV2 Video Device should be listed and not have a yellow warning sign for the icon.
4. Right click on the device and select Properties and then select the Driver tab. Make sure the Driver Provider is listed as DiTango.
